'Govt taking initiatives to prevent crime, fight against drugs': Tripura CM Manik Saha

Agartala (Tripura) [India], September 28 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday inaugurated the Bagbassa police station in North Tripura and said that his government is taking various initiatives to increase the strength of the police to prevent crimes and fight against drugs.
"Our government is taking various initiatives to increase the strength of the police in various areas to prevent crimes and strengthen the fight against drugs. As part of such initiatives, inaugurated this police station today," CM Saha posted on Twitter, which is now X. 
CM Manik Saha watched the final match of the Atal Memorial Knockout Football Tournament at Fatikroy in Unakoti district earlier in the day and presented trophies. "Glad to have witnessed the thrilling final match of Atal Memorial Knockout Football Tournament," he posted on X.
"This tournament has gained popularity in the entire district over the past few years. Presented the trophies & other prizes to the champion & runner-up teams amid super excitement among thousands of football lovers," he added.
While addressing a gathering, CM said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been continuously laying emphasis on the importance of education for a stronger nation & "we have been working in the same direction".
The transformation in an education system that came through our continuous efforts is now visible everywhere in the state," CM Saha said.
After laying the foundation stone of the new school building of Kalachhera High School in Dharmanagar, CM interacted with the teachers and staff to motivate them more towards the student activities in terms of making them competent & updated with the system, as per a statement. (ANI)
