The Deputy CM condemned the violence that occurred in Maharashtra's Beed on Monday and said that strict actions will be taken against those who are trying to spread violence.
"The incident that happened in Beed yesterday cannot be supported. The government is very positive in giving reservations to Marathas. Some decisions have been taken regarding it today as well. But some people are trying to spread violence and it will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against them," Fadnavis said after attending the cabinet meeting here on Tuesday.
The Deputy CM further informed that they have received the CCTV footage in connection to the Beed incident and actions will be taken under sector 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
"Some people have been identified. We have received all the CCTV footage and the individuals visible in it have attempted to burn people alive. Under section 307 of the IPC, action will be taken as they have attempted to kill and burn people alive. This is a serious incident and adequate forces are deployed at the required places. No action will be taken on the people who are doing silent protest," he said.

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde also reacted to the violence in Beed and said that the government is paying full attention to those who are trying to instigate and disrupt the law and order in the state.
"Our government is trying to maintain law and order in the state. The government is paying full attention to those who are trying to instigate and disrupt the law and order in the state. It is the government's duty to give Maratha reservation that is fully proven and within the ambit of law...We are working at war footing. The government is positive about giving reservations to Marathas," CM Shinde said.

MLA Chandrakant Patil who was also present in the cabinet meeting said that after working for 40 days the Justice Shinde committee has proposed that out of 1 crore 72 lakh documents that were collected, around 13,500 documents are valid.
"After working for more than 40 days, the Justice Shinde committee has given its proposal that out of 1 crore 72 lakh documents, around 13,500 documents are valid. These 13,500 people have their three generations belonging to 'Kunbi', and the committee has given its suggestions that this 'Kunbi' certificate can be given to them," Patil said.
"This is just primary information as various documents are in different languages and thus we have given an extension to the Shinde committee. Cabinet has further instructed to collect fresh empirical data in the matter," he added.
Meanwhile, the situation in Beed, Maharashtra, has returned to normal amid heavy deployment of security personnel after protests erupted on Monday.
Deepa Mudhol Munde, District collector, Beed said, "The situation is peaceful and there have been no law and order problems since the night of October 30. Section 144, which prohibits gatherings of more than four people, is still in effect. We have issued orders for an Internet ban."
"The decision to curb restriction will be taken after discussion with senior officials. After analyzing the complete situation final decision will be taken, " She added.
The Maratha reservation issue has seen several incidents of violence in the past few days.(ANI)
