Gorakhpur: Seven conned by fake travel agency, stuck in Malaysia

Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India] Dec 29 (ANI): Seven people from Gorakhpur are stuck in Malaysia after they were conned by a fake travel agent gang on the pretext of employment.

For the good livelihood of their families, these youth from Gorakhpur made their minds to find employment abroad and they even reached there, but instead, some of them are imprisoned while some are wandering around in order to save their lives.

The victims' families are now seeking help from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Sumitra, the mother of one trapped youth, told ANI, "Tourist visas were given to all of them instead of work visas and their passports were seized by the gang after reaching Malaysia".

Three youth went to Malaysia to work with their five associates with the help of a travel agent but they came to know that the visa on which they had come to earn money in a foreign land was not employment visa but tourist visa.

Moreover, at the Malaysian airport, the partner of the travel agent, who came to receive them, took the passports of these eight youth.

Their tourist visas expired on December 24 and they are trapped there without their passports.

The relatives of these unfortunate men are trying to reach to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for help.

These youth are stuck in Malaysia for the past two months. (ANI)
