Patna (Bihar) [India], October 16 (ANI): Congress leader Pawan Khera on Thursday expressed concern about the potential impact of the "Adityanath model" on Bihar, saying, "God save Bihar."
He was responding to UP CM Yogi Adityanath's comments, saying that the BJP leader should focus on addressing the "jungle raj" in Uttar Pradesh rather than criticising others.
"First, he should take responsibility for the 'jungle raj' he has created in Uttar Pradesh... God save Bihar. We don't want the Adityanath model here...," said Khera.
Earlier in the day, CM Yogi addressed another rally in Danapur in support of BJP candidate Ram Kripal Yadav. He criticised the RJD-Congress alliance for fostering what he described as "jungle raj and dynastic politics" in Bihar between 1990 and 2005.
He said, "Who does not know about Bihar's jungle raj and dynastic politics from 1990 to 2005. You must have seen who those people were who turned Bihar's spiritual land of knowledge into a land of dynastic politics and crime, creating an identity crisis for our youth."
"How anarchy was spread here in the name of development is not hidden from anyone. Amid the identity crisis faced by the youth in Bihar, people who wanted to do something for the State migrated," he said.
Highlighting a relationship between Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, he made a vote appeal for the "double-engine government" in the upcoming Assembly polls.
CM Yogi said, "The relationship between Uttar Pradesh and Bihar is not just a relationship; it is a shared heritage. It is a bond of one soul, a bond of one culture, and also a bond of one resolve. This relationship is as unbreakable as the bond between Lord Ram and Mother Janaki."
"Let a double-engine government be established again in Bihar, and under the leadership of the double-engine government, Bihar's development pace should be seen accelerating rapidly. The work that the NDA government has accomplished in the last 20 years under Nitish Kumar's leadership, let that momentum continue in the same way, and for this, I have come here today to appeal to the sisters and brothers of Bihar," he added.
He also spoke on seat-sharing of Mahagathbandhan ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls. While speaking to the reporters, Khera said, "... There's no confusion. Sometimes it takes time for everyone to present their point of view... The discussion is only taking as much time as it takes..."
Mahagathbandhan has yet to finalise its seat-sharing formula; the NDA parties, including the BJP, JD(U), LJP (R), HAM, and RLM, have almost declared their candidates for the seats they are contesting.
Polling in Bihar will be held in two phases, on November 6 and 11, for all 243 Assembly seats. The counting of votes is scheduled for November 14. The last date for filing nominations for the first phase is October 17, and for the second phase, it is October 20. (ANI)
