Goa prays for speedy recovery of Parrikar

Panaji (Goa) [India], Feb. 24 (ANI): Special prayers are being held in Goa for the health and speedy recovery of Chief Ministe Manohar Parrikar.

Such a special prayer was held at Panaji's Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday.

Prayers are also being held in temples across Goa for the CM's health. He is suffering from a pancreas-related ailment.

He is currently undergoing treatment at Mumbai's Lilavati hospital since Feb 15.

Lord Hanuman Shree Maruti Temple in Dhavem village in Sattari taluka, 45 km from Panaji, was the first to perform a puja, where hundreds of villagers recited the 'Mahamrutyujay Mantra Jaap', a prayer from the Rigveda.

"We have begun reciting the mantra, which will continue for two days. We will continuously chant the mantra seeking God's blessing for the health of our chief minister," villager Rama Marathe, who is taking part in the recitation of the prayer, said.

"We are sure that Parrikar will be back in the state soon as we need him. He is a chief minister who is connected to the masses. He has touched the life of every person in the state," he said.

In Vasco town, 40 km from here, United Taximen Association, a union of the black-yellow taxi operators working at Dabolim airport, held a puja at the Shree Damodar temple for Parrikar's recovery.

Meanwhile, BJP's Goa and Mumbai unit will hold a special puja at a Ganesh temple in Thane district in Maharashtra for the recovery of the Goa chief minister.(ANI)

TMC's jibe at Centre amid LPG crisis due to West Asia conflict

In an 'X' post, TMC said the government has "ek hi naara, line mein rahe desh bechara," pointing to past governmental measures including demonetisation, the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, the Special Identification Registration (SIR), and now the LPG shortage. The party described demonetisation as a "Tughlaqi farman" that forced ordinary citizens to wait in serpentine queues outside banks and ATMs for days to access their own money. The post also highlighted the 2020 COVID-19 oxygen crisis, when families stood in long lines outside hospitals and suppliers as the public health system collapsed.
