Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated the Cancer Screening Abhiyan with a mobile cancer-detecting van in North Goa on Saturday.

Sankhali (Goa) [India], September 14 (ANI): Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated the 'Cancer Screening Abhiyan' with a mobile cancer-detecting van in North Goa on Saturday.
The Chief Minister said that the pre-cancer detection camp will offer facilities like x-rays, mammography, screening, and even blood investigation.
"Goa government has started a pre-cancer detection camp in collaboration with Goa Medical College, Goa Dental College, and the Directorate of Health Services.
"Union Minister Sripad Naik took the initiative under CSR and gave us this pre-detection bus, which will offer facilities like x-ray, mammography, screening, and even blood investigation. The approximate cost of the bus is Rs 3 crores. This screening bus is helping in early detection of cancer," Sawant told ANI.
The other initiative of the Goa government to combat cancer was the Swasth Mahila Swasth Goa Initiative. This initiative's goal was to decrease the incidence of advanced breast cancer in Goa
Swasth Mahila Swasth Goa Initiative was launched in 2021.
This project was a convergence of efforts of SBI under CSR, You We Can (Yuvraj Singh Foundation) and the Government of Goa.
Funded by the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance and with the SBI Foundation, the initiative envisaged free breast cancer screening using 'iBreast' devices and free treatment for all positive cases with the support of the Government of Goa. (ANI)
