Mainpuri (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 7 (ANI): Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Singh Yadav on Thursday claimed that the people of Ghosi have voted for SP candidate Sudhakar Singh and he would win the bypolls.
“Samajwadi Party has made all-out efforts to get seats for the INDIA bloc. We have been camping at Ghosi. People of Ghosi have cast votes in large numbers and these votes will result in the victory of SP candidate Sudhakar Singh. He will win the Ghosi seat,” said Shivpal Yadav.
Speaking about the alleged misuse of official machinery that stopped Muslim voters from casting their votes in the by-elections, he said, "Ghosi people have prevented foul play by Bharatiya Janata Party workers. I will be present in Azamgarh during counting. All the party workers and local MLAs are keeping an eye on counting. We will urge the Election Commission of India to ensure fair counting of votes”
On asked for his view on Sanatan Dharma,  he said "We respect every religion, we are secular people, and we will respect every religion.”
Shivpal Singh Yadav denied the possibility of including the Bahujan Samaj Party in the INDIA bloc as of now.
"When Mayawati gives up support for BJP, we will be ready to talk. Entire UP knows with whom Mayavati ji is," he said.
He said the removal of word India from the Constitution of India will result in the demise of their government in 2024.
"Both names India and Bharat are mentioned in the Constitution of India," he said.
The bypoll for the Ghosi seat was held on September 5 and the counting will be done on September 8. (ANI)
