Gauri Lankesh's family urges govt., SIT to punish culprits as soon as possible

Bengaluru (Karnataka), October 5 (ANI): The family of late journalist Gauri Lankesh, who was shot dead at her residence by few unidentified assailants on September 5, on Thursday urged the Government and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to find out and punish the killers as soon as possible.

Bengaluru (Karnataka), October 5 (ANI): The family of late journalist Gauri Lankesh, who was shot dead at her residence by few unidentified assailants on September 5, on Thursday urged the Government and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to find out and punish the killers as soon as possible.

Speaking to ANI here, Gauri Lankesh's brother Indrajeet Lankesh said, "I would request the government and the SIT to find out killers as soon as possible. We are trying to search the reason behind Gauri's murder. Everyday, there is a new angle in the investigation. But for now the motive behind her murder is important."

Talking about Gauri's achievements, her brother said we are proud that she was bestowed with an International award.

Resonating similar views, her sister Kavitha Lankesh said she hoped the nationwide protests in her support put pressure on the government to find out the truth.

"There were so many protests going across India. Hopefully, these protests put pressure on the government to find out the truth," she added. (ANI)
