Gau Rakshaks have a govt in power that supports them: Owaisi

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 16 (ANI): Being irked over Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government on incidents of cow vigilant issue, All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday stated that Gau Rakshaks are emboldened because they have an ideological government in power to back them.

Owaisi commented soon after a Muslim family in Rajasthan's Alwar alleged that the state police took away their 51 cows on a complaint by few Hindu activists and handed them over to a village 'gaushala'.

Speaking to ANI, Owaisi said, "There has been a 90 percent increase in these cow vigilant incidents in the country, since Prime Minister Modi-led government has come to power from 2014. There is no denying to the fact that all these people (Gau Rakshaks) are emboldened because they have a government in power, which shares the same ideology. That is why they feel that they can take law in their hands".

"Recently, Rajasthan Government (in Alwar) took away all the cows from a Muslim family; leaving the calves to have bottled-milk, fed by the family. Everything for BJP is based on faith. I feel that unless and until the rule of law is implemented, we can never see decrease in such incidents. If the BJP government believes so much in cow protection, then they should make a provision in the upcoming budget," he said.

However, the police has denied the allegations saying, they have no role in the incident and the locals had driven the cows to the gaushala.

For the past 10 days, the family has been struggling to get back its flock.

The accusations have been leveled by Subba Khan, 45.

Khan has also submitted an affidavit at the Kishangarh Police Station as well as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office. (ANI)
