'Gates of Bargi dam likely to open on July 28, alert issued for areas concerned': MP CM Mohan Yadav

"Currently, the water level of Bargi dam is 416 metres and it will reach 418 metres by July 28, as a result of which, its gates will have to be opened on July 28 due to which the areas below, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Narmadapuram, Harda, Khandwa and Khargone, have been alerted in this regard that to be cautious," the chief minister said.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 26 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed concern over the continuous rainfall in parts of the state on Friday and urged caution.
CM Yadav stated that the water level of Bargi Dam, located in Jabalpur district, is expected to reach 418 metres by Sunday, July 28. Consequently, the dam's gates will be opened, and an alert has been issued for the surrounding regions.
"At present, there is a forecast of heavy rain in Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, Guna, Rajgarh, Dewas, Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore, Chhindwara, Seoni, Balaghat, Katni, Panna, Chhatarpur, and Satna today. We all should be cautious. Do not seek shelter under trees during the rainy season, as there is a risk of lightning strikes," CM Yadav told ANI.
Light rain is expected across the entire state for the next four days. So far, the irrigation dams in the state are about 50 percent full. Bargi Dam is 53 percent full, Gandhi Sagar is 56 percent full, Indira Sagar is 23 percent full, Omkareshwar is 44 percent full, and Rajghat is 30 percent full, CM Yadav reported.
"Currently, the water level of Bargi Dam is 416 metres and will reach 418 metres by July 28. As a result, its gates will need to be opened on July 28. Consequently, areas including Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Narmadapuram, Harda, Khandwa, and Khargone have been alerted to be cautious," the Chief Minister said.
Additionally, relief camps are being operated in Sagar and Katni in response to the flood situations, he added.
According to the meteorological office, very heavy rain with lightning is likely to occur over Raisen, Sehore, Guna, and Harda districts in the evening hours.
Similarly, heavy rain with lightning is expected to continue over Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Vidisha, Bhopal, Rajgarh, Dewas, North Khandwa, Narmadapuram, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Pandhurna, South Chhindwara, Shajapur, Balaghat, Bhind, and Maihar in the evening.
Moderate rain with lightning is forecasted for Pachmarhi, Khajuraho, Agar, Indore, Khargone, Morena, Gwalior, Datia, Niwari, Panna, Rewa, Mauganj, Dindori, Anuppur, North Chhindwara, South Khandwa, Sagar, Damoh, Satna, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Dhar, Ratlam, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Barwani, Betul, Burhanpur, Senoi, and Mandla. Light rain with lightning is expected to continue over Sidhi, Singrauli, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, and Sheopur Kalan in the evening hours. (ANI)
