Ganja worth Rs 25 lakh seized in Tripura

Tripura Legislative Assembly's upcoming Budget Session will be held from March 13 to March 25, announced Ratan Lal Nath, Parliamentary Affairs Minister of Tripura, following a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) at the Assembly.

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has issued an advisory to pharmaceutical manufacturers, importers, and marketing authorization holders to ensure strict compliance with the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules, 1945 in the promotion and marketing of prescription medicines, particularly GLP-1 receptor agonists and similar drugs indicated for obesity and metabolic disorders

The manufacture, sale and distribution of drugs are regulated in the country under the provisions of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules thereunder through a system of licensing and inspection, an official release from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.

"What has been seen in these last 15 years is that there is no law and order here. No industry has come, and the Rohingyas and Muslims from Bangladesh have just come here and made them voters here... These people never follow the Constitution. These people have sent their people to show the black flag there," Saha told ANI.

The 28 seat council is currently led by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), with the Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barma-led Tipra Motha party leading in the council with 16 seats. While the party crosses the majority mark in the council, it is supported by the BJP having 9 members.
