Gadkari woos HP electorates ahead of state polls

Kullu (Himachal Pradesh) [India], Oct. 31 (ANI): Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday said the Bharatiya Janata Party, if brought to power in Himachal Pradesh, will bring airplanes that land on water.

In an address to the public in Jhandutta district of Himachal, Gadkari said, "I promise you I will bring airplane which will land on water. You might think that I am making fake promises just like many other politicians. However, record my words, I executed all the promises I made in the last 35 years of my career."

Gadkari also assured to bring electricity-controlled vehicles in the state.

"I am Member of Parliament(MP) from Nagpur where at least 200 Ola taxi run on electricity. Petrol costs 80 rupees, diesel 60, but electricity costs only 10 rupees. Hydro-electricity is produced in Himachal but has no customers. I have come here to give you a promise, that if you select BJP as your government, we will bring electricity driven buses, cars, and bikes. The electric vehicle will get charged in 15 minutes and travel a journey of 150 km", Gadkari said adding that fares of bus tickets will be reduced by half because electricity is cost-effective, pollution free and indigenous.

Gadkari said that the upcoming assembly elections will not decide the future of BJP, Congress, Prem Kumar Dhumal or Virbhadra Singh, but of the public of Himachal Pradesh.

Taking a dig on the Congress leaders, Gadkari said, "India gained its independence in 1947. Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru said he will remove poverty. Then Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi said they will remove poverty. Now, Nehru's grand-grandson Rahul Gandhi is also saying he will remove poverty. I agree that they have removed poverty, but only of their aides and Congress members".

Gadkari also urged the electorates of Himachal Pradesh to vote for BJP candidate Kishori Lal.

"I have been given so many ministries in the Central Government that I often forget my department. You elect Kishori Lal Ji as your representative and I will fulfill every demand. Press Lotus button in front of his picture and such current will flow that Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh will rise 2 inches above his chair. (ANI)
