Gurugram (Haryana) [India], September 7 (ANI): Gurugram District Administration on Thursday issued an advisory for corporate offices and private institutions and instructed them to allow employees to “work from home” on Friday in the wake of the upcoming G20 Summit in New Delhi.
"In consideration of the aforementioned facts, all corporate offices and private institutions in the district are advised to guide their employees to Work from Home tomorrow on 8th September 2023,” read the advisory.
The advisory issued by Gurugram’s District Magistrate came following the restriction imposed on the movement of traffic on NH-48 which may lead to traffic congestion.
“Whereas in wake of G-20 Summit in Delhi, traffic will be regulated on NH-48 on 8th September 2023 which might result in occasional traffic congestion on the roads of Gurugram city. Accordingly, there is a need to exercise caution and minimize travel so that traffic congestion can be avoided,” read the traffic advisory.
Meanwhile, in an attempt to provide full proof security at the mega event, Delhi Police has heightened the security along the Yamuna River too.
Delhi Police personnel are patrolling the Yamuna River through boats because Delhi Police fears that some mischievous element may enter the New Delhi area through Yamuna and disrupt the G20 program, officials said.
According to a senior officer of Delhi Police, Yamuna passes through the New Delhi area which is close to Bharat Mandapam (venue for G20 event), hence mischievous elements could try to enter the New Delhi area through Yamuna also.
Patrolling is being done to ensure security, and Delhi Police personnel using the boats to keep an eye on every activity happening along the Yamuna.
The G20 Leaders' Summit is scheduled to be held from September 9-10. The summit is being attended by more than 30 heads of state and top officials from the European Union and invited guest countries and 14 heads of international organisations. (ANI)
