Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Mar 6 (ANI): The Valley is facing the crunch of essential items because of frequent closure of Srinagar-Jammu highway in the wake of massive snowfall.
The Jammu- Srinagar highway, which connects Kashmir Valley to the rest of the country, has been closed for a protracted period of time, affecting the supply of essential commodities such as petrol, poultry, cooking gas, meat, and other domestic items.
Last month, incessant rain and snowfall had led to the collapse of as many as nine houses in Jakhed panchayat area, located near Dudu in Jammu, and in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. Heavy snowfall and rain have thrown daily life out of gear in many areas of the Valley. (ANI)
