New Delhi [India], January 8 (ANI): Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Monday that as many as four crore houses were built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the last ten years under Prime Minister Narendera Modi.
The minister claimed that the same number of houses were built in the last 65 years under different governments.
While addressing a Viksit Sankalp Yatra Programme in New Delhi, the minister for civil aviation said, "...In the last 65 years, several governments came and went away. During this time, only four crore houses were built under Awas Yojana".
"However, the same number of houses were built in the last 10 years under PM Modi's leadership...," the minister added.
Later in the day, the minister, while addressing the media, said, "It is PM Modi's guarantee that in his third term, he will make sure that India emerges as the third-largest economy in the world. Every government scheme should reach 100 per cent saturation."
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday interacted with beneficiaries of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra via video conferencing.
"The 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra' has completed 50 days, witnessing an unprecedented participation of 11 crore people within this short span," PM Modi said.
Describing it as the "Yatra of the Country," PM added, "This Yatra is not only of the government but also of the country. This is a yatra of dreams, of aspirations, of hopes, of resolutions," he said.
ViKsit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is being undertaken across the country to attain saturation of flagship schemes of the government by ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach all targeted beneficiaries in a time-bound manner.
This staggering number, which was reached within 50 days of the launch of the Yatra, indicates the profound impact and unmatched ability of the Yatra to unite people across the nation towards a shared vision of Viksit Bharat. (ANI)
