Former Congress MLA NL Narendra Babu joins BJP

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], October 1 (ANI): Former Congress MLA NL Narendra Babu on Sunday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and accused his ex-party of sidelining him after coming to power in the state.

Talking to ANI, Narendra Babu said, "I stood by the party in the crisis. But the party, after coming to power, ignored us (he and other lost candidates) just because we were defeated in the elections. But we were defeated not by our own mistakes, but by the deep conspiracy of our own party people."

Babu also set aside the allegations that he has joined BJP ahead of the assembly elections in fear of not getting ticket to contest the 2018 elections from Mahalakshmi Layout constituency.

He said he is not grabbing any opportunity.

Babu added that he might have lost the elections but he hasn't lost his spirit and would continue to work for the people through his new party-BJP.

Narendra Babu was elected to the state Legislative Assembly twice and served as councillor in the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike thrice. (ANI)
