Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 5 (ANI): Former litigant in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case, Iqbal Ansari hailed PM Modi, stating that the PM of our country should be like Narendra Modi.
"We want PM Modi's rally in Ayodhya to be successful. Ayodhya is auspicious for PM Modi. We are ready to welcome him to Ayodhya with flowers...," Ansari told ANI.
"We want Hindu-Muslim brotherhood. There should be mutual support. We have always praised the government, PM Modi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. We only praise those who are doing good work," he added.
"The PM of our country should be like him (Narendra Modi). He is going to become PM again. He takes care of everyone," he said.
Girish Pati Tripathi (Mayor Ayodhya), told ANI," Besides, being the PM, he is also an ardent Ram devotee. He has always been welcomed here. People are excited to welcome him. The entire society will show up on the streets today to welcome PM Modi. A message will be conveyed that the people of Ayodhya are standing with their PM".
Om Prakash Pandey (Purohit Samaj Ayodhya) told ANI, "Upon receiving the information of PM Modi's arrival, people of the Ayodhya are very excited. People have been waiting since 12 pm with garlands in their hands to welcome him. The public has arrived in Ayodhya."
The visit to Ayodhya on Sunday will be his first since the 'Pran Pratishtha' of Ram Lalla in His birthplace on January 22, this year.
Ayodhya will be voting in the fifth phase on May 20. Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases till June 1 and the counting of votes in all seats is scheduled for June 4.
The polling in Uttar Pradesh, which sends the most members to the Lower House, at 80, is being held in all seven phases of the parliamentary elections. Voting in 16 seats was completed in the first two phases.
In the 2019 general elections, the BJP took a lion's share of the electoral spoils, winning 62 out of 80 seats in the state, with 2 more won by ally Apna Dal (S). Mayawati's BSP managed to secure 10 seats, while Akhilesh Yadav's SP had to settle for just five.
The Congress was reduced to just a lone seat. (ANI)
