Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [India], March 1 (ANI): Former Andhra Pradesh Minister Gudivada Amarnath alleged that the budget presented by the Chandrababu Naidu government has not given any proper allocation to the poor sections, as a result of which the people are "highly disappointed and feel cheated."
Speaking to the media in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, former minister Gudivada Amarnath stated that the allocations for the Talliki Vandanam and Annadata Sukhibhava schemes are far less than the requirement of the poors and due to this lack of allocations, they did not get assurance for the fulfilment of poll promises which were made during the elections.
Furthermore, Amarnath stated that the opposition YSRCP will mount pressure on the government in the assembly to ensure that all the poll promises are fulfilled. He alleged that the budget does not allocate funds for women and youth or job creation, the allocations for Talliki Vandanam and Annadata Sukhibhava are far less than the requirement, and the poorest of the poor did not get the assurance of fulfilling the poll promises with little or no allocations.
"The allocations for Talliki Vandanam and Annadata Sukhibhava are far less than the requirement, and the poorest of the poor did not get the assurance of fulfilling the poll promises with little or lack of allocations", Amarnath told the media on Saturday.
"YSRCP will mount pressure on the government to ensure that the poll promises are fulfilled, adding that the budget totally lacks allocations for women, youth, and job creation. The contrast has elevated YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who adhered to the welfare calendar, and all sections of the people have benefited during his government", he said.
Amarnath said that the budget speech seems to be "dedicated only to praising Chandrababu Naidu and bashing YSRCP" despite the "discrepancies" in the allocations. He claimed that while there are 80 lakh students in the state and the requirement is Rs 12,000 crore, the amount allocated is far less, at Rs 8,603 crore, and while Rs 10,000 crore is needed for the farmers' scheme, the amount allocated is just Rs 6.000 crore.
"The allocation or lack thereof shows the intent of the coalition government. No allocations were made for north Andhra and Rayalaseema, and Amaravati has taken the lion's share, which shows the coalition government's priorities," he added.
"People are watching how they have been cheated once again, and we will be with them and mount pressure to ensure that all promises are kept, as YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has shown the way in respecting the manifesto. He said the group 2 aspirants, students, youth, women, and all sections are disappointed with the budget," Amarnath further said. (ANI)
