'Folk Music, Camel Stunts': Jodhpur hosts Marwar Festival 2025 with Heritage Walk

Jodhpur is hosting the annual Marwar Festival 2025. The two-day event began on October 6 with a heritage walk organised by the Department of Tourism and District Administration.

Jodhpur (Rajasthan) [India], October 6 (ANI): The "Blue City" Jodhpur is hosting the annual Marwar Festival 2025. The two-day event began on October 6 with a heritage walk organised by the Department of Tourism and District Administration.
Beautifully decorated camels, men, women, and kids dressed in traditional "Rajputana" attire with weapons that hold stories of the great kings and queens of Rajasthan, showcased the cultural heritage of the state.
The festival also featured traditional music as a part of the walk. Young children who showcased their talents in folk music with drums, flutes, and other traditional instruments set the theme for the festival.
Assistant Commandant, Border Security Force, Ghewar Ram told ANI that the camel squad of BSF's Special Training Centre is all set to participate in the festival. The camel squad will perform various stunts and showcase activities to entertain the spectators at the Maharaja Umaid Singh Stadium.
"Rajasthan's famous Marwar Mahotsav is being organised in Jodhpur...Various stunts and activities will be performed by the camel squad in the Maharaja Umaid Singh Stadium. This camel squad undergoes training at the BSF's STC (Special Training Centre) in Jodhpur. They practice here all year long," he said.
The Marwar festival is one of the most famous and vibrant celebrations of Rajasthan. Jodhpur annually hosts the festival with great valour to display the cultural heritage of the state. The festival is a blend of folk performances, competitions, camel safaris, exhibitions, kite flying events, handicraft fairs, local delicacies, and heritage walks.
The festival honours the Rajput warriors with great enthusiasm every year. It offers an opportunity to delve into the history of Rajasthan and experience royalty and strength. This year, the festival is being held from October 6-7, 2025. The main venues for the festival are Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Clock Tower, and Samrat Ashok Udhyan. (ANI)
