Five drug peddlers arrested with 43,000 Yaba tablets in Assam's Cachar district

Police on Friday seized 43,000 Yaba tablets and apprehended five drug peddlers including a minor boy in two separate operations in Assam's Cachar district.

Cachar (Assam) [India], October 6 (ANI): Police on Friday seized 43,000 Yaba tablets and apprehended five drug peddlers including a minor boy in two separate operations in Assam's Cachar district.
Numal Mahatta, Superintendent of Police of Cachar district said that, in the first operation police seized 30,000 Yaba tablets from the possession of two drug peddlers and seized 13,000 Yaba tablets from three other drug peddlers in the second operation in Cachar district.
"Today at around 4:30 pm Cachar district police launched a joint operation with a BSF intelligence, Karimganj and intercepted one car, 2 two-wheelers and seized 30,000 numbers of Yaba tablets from the possession of two accused persons," said Numal Mahatta.
"Police apprehended both persons namely Mozibur Rahman (33) and Saharul Alam Laskar (22). Necessary lawful action is being taken," added Numal Mahatta.
In a separate operation, based on secret information a joint operation was conducted by Kalain police station and CRPF, Silchar in the Dumkar area.
In the house of one Masuk Uddin, a dealing of drugs was going on and accordingly, the police party arrived at that place on seeing the police the involved persons tried to escape but somehow they were apprehended by the team and recovered 13,000 Yaba tablets from their possession.
The apprehended persons were identified as Jabir Hussain (23), Rizul Ahmed (20) and the minor.
Further lawful action is being taken. (ANI)
