Palghar (Maharashtra) [India], September 25 (ANI): Following Team India's shooting trio clinching gold in the air rifle team shooting event, Palghar SP Balasahab Patil, father of one of the winners' Rudrankksh Patil said that he is proud that his child has brought glory to the country.
"We felt proud that our child has brought glory to the country," Balasahab Patil said on Monday.
The trio of Divyansh Panwar, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Rudranksh Patil won India's first gold by securing the top position in the men's 10m air rifle team event at the Asian Games.
"Winning any medal is a big thing for India. We got this great news in the morning. All three worked hard and won the gold medal, they were fortunate to bring the gold medal to India," SP Balasahab Patil said.
Speaking on his son's achievements, the SP said, "Rudrankksh has been taking training since 2015-16 in Thane. Every year he has been making records nationally and internationally. He is making good progress. He has done research on himself and on guns. He is improving himself in every field added."
On support received from the government, Patil said, "A lot of support has been received from the government, both from the central and state governments. He has received a reward from the state government as well." 
Speaking about Rudrankksh's goal of winning gold in the Olympics, Patil said, "The ultimate aim is to win a medal in the Olympics. We didn't sleep the whole night and prayed for him. He should prepare to perform well in the Olympic Games and win a gold medal for the country." (ANI)
