New Delhi [India], September 28 (ANI): Delhi's Rouse Avenue court on Monday issued a notice seeking an explanation from the officers concerned in the non-execution of summons to three police officers, including the Station House Officer (SHO) of police Station Fatehpur Beri, in a farmhouse firing case.
The case pertains to a death caused by a celebratory firing at a farmhouse at New Year's Eve party on December 31, 2018. Former JDU MLA Raju Kumar Singh is one of the accused in this case.
Special CBI judge Vikas Dhull issued notice to the concerned officer to appear in person and sought an explanation in the matter.
"Issue notice to Incharge VB to appear in person on the next date of hearing and explain as to why summons sent to ATO/Inspector Shailendra Singh, IO/Inspector C L Meena, Sub-Inspector Manjeet Kumar for today were not executed," Special judge said in the order issued on September 25.
The court has issued fresh summons to ATO/Inspector Shailendra Singh, IO/Inspector C.L. Meena, and Sub-Inspector Manjeet Kumar to be served through SHO P.S Fateh Pur
Beri for October 7, 2023, at 10.30 am for assisting the Learned Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) for the State.
The substitute APP sought an adjournment as regular Additional PP is on leave and he is not prepared with the arguments on the charge.
This matter is at the stage of arguments on charge. A charge sheet under sections related to 302 and others was filed by Delhi police.
Delhi police filed the charge sheet against Raju Kumar Singh, his wife Renu Singh, and Rana Rajesh Singh. Proceedings against Hari Singh have been abated on June 4, 2022.
In this case of celebratory fire during a party on December 31, 2018, at the residence of JDU MLA a woman named Archana Gupta was injured due to gunshot. Later she died in the hospital on January 3, 2019.
Delhi police arrested Raju Kumar Singh and his bodyguard Hari Singh near Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
During raids, the police also recovered weapons and ammunition from Singh's farmhouse. (ANI)
