Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], August 27 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday lashed out at BJP MP Kangana Ranaut for her recent remarks on the farmers.
He noted that the BJP has also distanced itself from Ranaut's comments, and the Congress Party strongly opposes them as well.
"Farmers and gardeners are the food providers of this country. It is not good to make any kind of comment on them. No one has the right to insult them by making such statements. BJP has also distanced itself from the statement and the Congress Party opposes this"

The AAP and BJP leaders today held a protest against Kangana Ranaut's remarks against farmers.
"The BJP leaders who raise the slogan of Jai Jawan Jai Kisan, the same BJP leaders are now insulting the farmers by calling them seperatists," said one of the protesters.
On being asked of his thoughts on Kangana's statement, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh shrugged off shoulders stating, "Every person has their thinking. BJP has nothing to do with this statement. BJP is working for the benefit of the farmers."
The Actor-MP also came in for criticism from Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.
"The propaganda machinery of the Modi government, which has failed to fulfil the promises made to the farmers, is continuously engaged in insulting the farmers. The BJP MP calling the farmers who sacrificed 700 comrades during the 378-day marathon struggle as rapists and representatives of foreign forces is another proof of the BJP's anti-farmer policy and intentions. These shameful anti-farmer statements are a gross insult to the farmers of the entire country, including western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab, which cannot be accepted under any circumstances," Rahul Gandhi said in a post on X.
"The government committee formed at the time of withdrawing the farmers' movement is still in cold storage, the government has not been able to clarify its stand on MSP till date, no relief has been given to the families of the martyred farmers and on top of that, their character assassination is continuing. The betrayal of farmers by the Modi government cannot be hidden by disrespecting the food providers and attacking their dignity. No matter how much Narendra Modi and BJP conspire, INDIA will ensure legal guarantee of MSP for farmers," he further added.
Earlier on Monday, The BJP distanced itself from Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut's statement about the farmers' agitation and also asked the actor-turned-politician to refrain from giving such statements in the future. (ANI)
