Family of Mohit, who died in police custody, meets CM Yogi

The family of Mohit Pandey, a businessman who died in police custody recently, met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday to express their grief and received assurances of full support from him.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 28 (ANI): The family of Mohit Pandey, a businessman who died in police custody recently, met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday to express their grief and received assurances of full support from him.
The Chief Minister offered condolences and instructed officials to provide the victim's family with an ex gratia amount of Rs 10 lakh, housing, free education for the children, and access to various government schemes.
CM Yogi assured the family that those responsible would face strict consequences, promising that no culprit would be spared.
Mohit Pandey's mother, Tapeshwari Devi, along with his wife and children, visited the Chief Minister's official residence on Monday morning.
In response, the CM offered immediate financial support of ten lakh rupees and ordered that the family be granted all applicable benefits under government schemes, including housing and free education for the children.
After meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday, the family of the late businessman Mohit Pandey expressed a sense of relief.
Mohit's mother, Tapeshwari Devi, stated, "We are satisfied after meeting the Chief Minister. He assured us that he is fully aware of the case and that there will be no leniency. Once the investigation is complete, strict action will be taken against those found guilty."
Bakshi Ka Talab MLA Yogesh Kumar Shukla and Councilor Shailendra Verma were also present during the meeting.
Earlier, UP Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak announced that a murder case has been filed against the accused police officers in the Chinhat custodial death case. He assured that strict action would be taken against those involved.
"This is an unfortunate incident. The government is taking it very seriously. A high-level investigation is underway, and a murder case has been registered against the accused officers. The government stands with the victim's family, and we will deliver justice," Pathak said. (ANI)
