New Delhi [India], August 9 (ANI): Welcoming the Supreme Court verdict granting bail to AAP leader Manish Sisodia in the excise policy case, party leader Priyanka Kakkar said every worker of the party is very grateful to the Supreme Court and no one can stop him from changing the education system of India.
Speaking to ANI, AAP leader Priyanka Kakkar said, "Every worker of ours is very grateful to the Supreme Court but Manish Sisodia has been kept in jail for 17 months, without evidence, without trial, this is a travesty of justice, the Supreme Court also noted it. We have been saying from the beginning that not even a single penny recovered. Prime Minister Modi himself has admitted that not a single penny has been recovered...Now no one can stop him (Manish Sisodia) from changing the education system of India..."
Expressing joy over the Supreme Court decision, AAP MP Sanjay Singh called it a victory of truth and a big relief for the party.
"This is the victory of truth. As I have said earlier, there is no truth/evidence in this case. Our leaders were forcibly put in jail. Manish Sisodia was kept in jail for 17 months... I thank the Supreme Court that we got justice and the decision has come in favour of AAP and every worker is excited. I pray to God that Arvind Kejriwal and Satyendra Jain also come out of jail soon. This is a slap on the dictatorship of the central government." said AAP MP Sanjay Singh.
The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to Manish Sisodia in excise policy irregularities cases. The order has been delivered by a bench of justices B R Gavai and K V Viswanathan. The court also imposed various conditions including surrendering the passport and not influencing witnesses.
Meanwhile, Opposition party leaders also welcomed the Supreme Court decision to grant bail to AAP leader Manish Sisodia in the excise policy irregularities case.
CPI General Secretary D Raja said, "We welcome it... now the judiciary itself has started questioning the ED and the investigation conducted by it and this is a slap on the face of the ED."
In February 2023, Sisodia was arrested by the CBI for alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of now-scrapped Delhi's new excise policy.
According to the CBI, Sisodia had played the most vital role in the criminal conspiracy and he had been deeply involved in the formulation as well as the implementation of the said policy to ensure the achievement of the objectives of the said conspiracy. (ANI)
