Chandigarh [India], July 19 (ANI): Ahead of the upcoming assembly polls, the AAP Haryana unit president, Sushil Gupta, said that the people of the state want Arvind Kejriwal and are looking for 24-hour electricity and water supply, as in Delhi.
Speaking about the preparations for the upcoming assembly polls in the state, Gupta told ANI, "The Aam Aadmi Party is preparing for 90 assembly seats, preparations are going on at every booth. The people of Haryana want Arvind Kejriwal...".
Gupta added, "Every person wants Haryana to get 24-hour electricity and water like Delhi and Punjab. Every person should get employment, and drug abuse and crime should be curbed. Haryana needs change..."
On Thursday at a press conference, the Aam Aadmi Party announced that it will be contesting the upcoming assembly elections in Haryana on its own. The AAP contested one seat in Haryana in the recent Lok Sabha election in alliance with the Congress.
Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday attacked the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party, saying that both are two sides of the same coin.
He accused them of spreading falsehoods among the people. The chief minister also expressed confidence in the BJP's victory in the state assembly election later this year.
"The Aam Aadmi Party and Congress are two sides of the same coin; both lie but this time their lies have been exposed. The BJP government will be formed for the third time in the state," Saini said here.
Haryana is one of the eight states that will be holding legislative assembly elections this year.
Currently, the state is ruled by a coalition government formed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP).
The Haryana Assembly Elections 2024 are expected to take place on or before October 2024, as the current Assembly's tenure is set to end on November 3 this year. However, the election schedule is yet to be announced. (ANI)
