Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], March 30 (ANI): Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Mann Ki Baat programmes focused on unsung heroes who create an impact beyond politics and government.
Addressing a press conference here today, the former union minister said, "Every 'Mann Ki Baat' is centered around heroes that are nameless, faceless--heroes that are not known to the people of India, who are outside the government system, who are outside politics, but work hard to create an impact in their communities, in their families' lives, and in the larger lives of people around them."
He cited the latest episode where PM Modi mentioned individuals like arm wrestler Joby Mathew and famous rapper Hanumankind, among others, as sources of inspiration.
"Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji put forth examples, Joby Mathew, Hanumankind and many other examples of people who inspire us. For BJP and for people like me, every month this is a dose of inspiration, a dose of motivation that keeps us energized and keeps us committed to serving our country, transforming our nation, and taking our country forward," he added.
In the 120th episode of Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi talked about "adding wings to your zeal... About displaying passion despite challenges."
He spoke about arm wrestler Joby Mathew who won a Gold Medal in this year's Khelo India Para Games and read out an excerpt of his letter. "Winning a medal is very special, but our struggle is not limited to just standing on the podium. We fight a battle every day. Life tests us in many ways... very few people understand our struggle. Despite this, we move forward with courage. We work towards fulfilling our dreams. We believe that we are no less than anyone else." PM Modi said reading out from the letter.
He also spoke about the increasing prominence of indigenous sports in popular culture and referred to a recent example from the music industry that showcases India's traditional martial arts.
He said, "Our indigenous games are now becoming a part of popular culture. His new song "Run It Up" is becoming quite famous these days. Our traditional Martial Arts like Kalaripayattu, Gatka and Thang-Ta have been included in it. I congratulate Hanumankind that due to his efforts people of the world are getting to know about our traditional Martial Arts."
Meanwhile, PM Modi, while addressing the nation during his monthly 'Mann ki Baat' program, extended his greetings as the country starts its vibrant month of multiple festivals. The Prime Minister highlighted how such festivals underline the country's unity in diversity.
Extending his greetings for the upcoming festivals, the PM added, "These festivals happen at different parts of the country, but these show how unity is woven in the diversity of India, we must keep strengthening this feeling of unity."
"Today is the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of the month of Chaitra, today marks the beginning of Chaitra Navratri, also beginning Indian New Year, Vikram Samvat is starting. I have many of your letters in front of me, some of which are from Bihar, some from Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat , people have sent their mann ki baat in various ways. I wish to read some of the messages," PM Modi said. (ANI)
