Encounter between security forces, terrorists in Pulwama

Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir) Dec 28 (ANI): A wanted terrorist was killed by the security forces during an encounter at Renzipora in Pulwama area of South Kashmir on Friday morning.
The terrorist, identified as Ishfaq Yousuf Wani, was wanted by the law for his complicity in a series of terror crimes including attacks on security establishments and civilian atrocities.
"Based on a credible input about the presence of terrorists in Banderpora area of Pulwama district, a cordon and search operation was launched in the morning hours jointly by Police and security forces in the area," an official statement from the Police read.
Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition have also also been recovered from the site of encounter.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the law and initiated an investigation into the matter.
They have also requested the citizens not to venture inside the encounter zone since such an area can prove dangerous due to stray explosive materials. "People are requested to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosives materials if any," the statement added.
