Tonk (Rajasthan) [India], June 30 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Sunday emphasised that the double-engine government prioritises empowering farmers who produce food for the nation.
Addressing the state-level launch ceremony of 'Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana' at Krishi Upaj Mandi in Tonk, he said that the Rajasthan government is fulfilling all the promises of the Sankalp Patra.
"Empowering the farmer who produces food for the country is the priority of our double-engine government. The dream of a developed and prosperous Rajasthan will come true only with the prosperity of the farmer," Rajasthan CM said.
"Under Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi's scheme, Rs 6000 will be given and an additional Rs 2000 will be given to the farmers of the state. In this sequence, today Rs 653 crore has been directly deposited in the accounts of more than 65 lakh farmers by the state government as the first instalment of Rs 1000," he said.
Rajasthan CM said that the farmer's welfare is the top priority of the state government.
"I am also a farmer's son. I am well aware of their problems. Therefore, our government is always ready to protect the interests of farmers," he added.
"Farmers have been given a subsidy of more than Rs 8 thousand crore in electricity bills. MoUs worth Rs 2.24 lakh crore have been signed to provide adequate electricity to farmers and make the state a power surplus state. More than 80 thousand farmers of the state have received short-term crop loans of Rs 350 crore and 21 custom hiring centres are being established," he said.
Rajasthan CM praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the PM has started many schemes for farmer welfare, which are benefiting the farmers of the state.
"The world's largest decentralized grain storage scheme is being run by the Central Government in the cooperative sector," he added.
Earlier today, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav and Rajasthan CM participated in the Joint Initiative for Implementation of the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) Interstate River Link Project. (ANI)
