Elderly woman in Kottayam takes care of over 60 street dogs

The Additional Commissioner for Development said that "providing food to community dogs/stray dogs in a systematic manner can reduce their aggressive nature and biting tendency by satisfying their hunger, which will be helpful in neutering stray dogs and conducting mass vaccination programs."

Rally held in Lucknow supporting street dogs against the Supreme Court verdict, from the Taj Hotel to 1090 Chauraha. Prateek Yadav, younger brother of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, also attended the rally.

Speaking on the occasion, the District SP said that Stella played a significant role in more than 600 criminal cases and helped the department in identifying more than 30 accused. He said that its contribution to crime detection is especially appreciated by the department.

Telangana Minister Konda Surekha on Saturday took part in a street dog adoption programme near KBR National Park, urging citizens to adopt and protect stray dogs.

He was speaking as the Chief Guest at the XXII Annual Convention of the Indian Society for Advancement of Canine Practice (ISACP) and the National Symposium on "Role of Canine in One Health: Building Partnerships and Resolving Challenges," held in Nagpur.
