Education reaches a new low in Jamora

Jamora (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 31: If there happens to be six teachers for one student of Class VIII in a government school at Jamora in Samba district yet the education system fail to make the child learn the basic English alphabets then somewhere something is obviously amiss.
The administration in an attempt to lift up the face of education of Jamora had appointed six teachers for Class VIII in a government middle school while only one student was enrolled in the class.
In an extensive interactive session it came to light that the student, Chotu Ram, cannot name the English alphabets, names of the days or even the basic parts of the body. Chotu Ram told ANI, "I come regularly to the school. I am the only student in the eighth standard."
Speaking on the issue, Chief Education Officer of Samba district, Ram Paul who was unaware of the Jamora school situation, said that since there were no other school in the district, extra teachers were deployed.
He assured that the matter would be looked into and action would be taken. "If there are more teachers in the area, we will transfer them to other schools," Paul said.
However, he said, "The efforts to increase enrollment in government schools have increased from the past few years. The teachers have worked hard to improve education. Today, the trend has definitely seen a change. Earlier, people were more inclined towards private schools. Due to several provisions and improvements, people are now more inclined to enroll in government schools."(ANI)
