New Delhi [India], November 4 (ANI): Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday, responding to Mallikarjun Kharge's claim of BJP 'snatching' reservation of Central University teachers, said that Congress party has a "habit of lying."
Responding to Kharge's X post in which he highlighted the vacant reserve seats of teachers in the Central Universities, Pradhan said that during UPA rule the number of Vacant seat were 37% which has decreased to 26.8%.
"Congress party is in habit of lying. When one lie does not last, they come up with another lie. Whereas, the truth is crystal clear. In 2014, during the Congress UPA government, there were 16,217 sanctioned posts in Central universities out of which 6042 posts, i.e. 37% posts, were vacant. 57%, 63% and 60% posts of SC, ST and OBC were vacant," Dharmendra Pradhan wrote on X.
"The Modi government is rapidly filling all these vacant posts by taking every section along. This is the reason that despite the increase in the number of sanctioned posts (18,940) in 2024 as compared to 2014, the total number of vacant posts has decreased from 37% to 26.8% today," Pradhan added.
Pradhan informed that Central government has recruited more than 6890 teachers, in which 939 (13.6%) are from SC, 464 (6.7 %) ST, 1535 (22.27 %) OBC and 348 (5.05 %) are from EWS.
Pradhan furher slammed Kharge, stating that the Congress National President, "followed the footsteps of Rahul Gandhi to spread confusion regarding Central Universities."
He further demanded the explanation from Kharge on Congress' work for Dalits.
"The Congress party should explain why it kept the Dalits, the oppressed and the backward classes deprived of their rights despite ruling the country for 60 years? What was the reason that they did not get representation in various educational institutions of the country?" Pradhan wrote on X.
"The Congress party has no right to talk about the backward classes. Because for decades you have worked to snatch the rights of SC, ST and OBC and it is only the government of the honourable Prime Minister Modi ji that has worked to give rights not only to SC, ST and OBC, but also to the economically weaker EWS class."
Kharge on Saturday accused BJP of "snatching away the right of reservation of teachers in Central University"
Kharge talking to X, wrote, "Out of the sanctioned 18,940 teaching posts in 46 central universities, 27% of the teaching posts are vacant. More than 38% of SC, ST, OBC reserved posts are lying vacant. SC -- 32.1% vacant, ST -- 40.3% vacant, OBC - 41.8% vacant. 55% of posts in Professor category are vacant. 71% of EWS teaching posts are vacant. More than 47% of the 35,640 non-teaching posts are also vacant. Modi Government's slogan "Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas" mocks the fight for social justice by snubbing it!" (ANI)
