ED searches seven locations in Punjab's Patiala in gold smuggling case

The Enforcement Directorate has conducted search operations at seven locations in Punjab's Patiala in connection with a gold smuggling case, the agency said in a statement on Thursday.

New Delhi [India], December 14 (ANI): The Enforcement Directorate has conducted search operations at seven locations in Punjab's Patiala in connection with a gold smuggling case, the agency said in a statement on Thursday.
As per the statement, the agency conducted search operations at seven locations in Patiala, Punjab on December 12 at the premises of Lucky Satija, Surinder Kumar, Manjodh Singh Cheema and others in relation to the smuggling of foreign-origin gold into India.
During the search operations, various incriminating documents and digital devices were recovered and seized, the statement added.
Earlier in November this year, the ED conducted searches at 18 locations in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
During the search operations various incriminating documents, digital devices and unaccounted cash and jewellery of Rs 1.60 Crore (Cash of Rs 95 lakhs, Jewellery worth Rs 65 lakhs) were recovered and seized, it added. (ANI)
