New Delhi [India], Mar 11 (ANI): Enforcement Directorate on Monday attached properties of lawyer Gautam Khaitan located at New Delhi, Haryana and UK worth Rs. 8.46 crores under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
On Thursday, Delhi's Patiala House Court had reserved its order on Khaitan's bail application.
Khaitan was arrested under the Black Money Act by the Enforcement Directorate on January 26.
Enforcement Directorate counsel DP Singh opposed the bail plea of Khaitan and argued: "Khaitan is an expert in the laundering of money".
The development came to light just days after the Delhi High Court sought a reply from Union of India on the plea filed by Khaitan challenging the legality and validity of various acts including the Black Money (Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets) and Imposition of Tax Act, 2015. (ANI)
