Earthquake of magnitude 4.9 jolts Andaman Sea

An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale struck Sikar in Rajasthan on Saturday morning, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said.

In a post on X, Singhvi said leaders openly speak about annihilating other nations and even refer to assassination attempts. He questioned why there is little discussion about the legality or validity of such actions, adding that countries seem to focus only on "success rates" rather than accountability.

"The ongoing conflict has already begun to disrupt established global logistics channels. Air routes are being altered, and maritime trade through the Red Sea and key Gulf straits faces heightened uncertainty. If diversions become prolonged, shipments may increasingly have to reroute via the Cape of Good Hope, adding an estimated 15-20 days to transit time for Europe and the United States. This will inevitably raise freight costs and stretch supply chains," said Ralhan in an official statement.

A series of earthquakes and tremors have caused panic in Sikkim during late February 2026, with multiple jolts reported on Thursday and early morning of Friday.

A total of 3,996 pilgrims set off by sea to attend the festival at Katchatheevu, an islet located between India and Sri Lanka. The devotees departed from the Rameswaram port after completing mandatory checks by the police, revenue department, citizenship department and customs authorities.
