Earthquake of magnitude 3.7 hits Assam's Tezpur

An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale struck Sikar in Rajasthan on Saturday morning, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said.

"Due to runway-related work in Tezpur, he was posted in Jorhat. He used to share about his work. He always tried not to make mistakes. His Group Captain has officially communicated to us that he (his son) is no more," the father said.

A series of earthquakes and tremors have caused panic in Sikkim during late February 2026, with multiple jolts reported on Thursday and early morning of Friday.

On the directions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan has constituted a 14-member high-level committee to review and revise the existing by-laws.

An earthquake of magnitude 3.4 struck Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday at 08:50 am, according to the National Centre for Seismology.
