Dragging my mother's name for political vendetta: Robert Vadra

New Delhi (India) Jan 22 (ANI): Claiming that his mother has not received any summon from the Enforcement Directorate, businessman Robert Vadra on Tuesday said that her name is being dragged as part of political vendetta and that going to such an extent is deplorable.
Vadra is the brother-in-law of Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
"My mother has not received any summons from the Enforcement Directorate. She is a 75-year- old lady who lives a completely private life and has nothing to do with politics so I was surprised to see that the media chose to splash her name all over in a manner that reeked of sensationalism and bordered on harassment of a senior citizen for no explicable reason," he wrote in a Facebook post.
"I understand the desperation and desire of this government to vilify my family especially since they are being exposed daily for some alleged scam or other, and am well aware of the lengths to which they are going to use the media to further their political ends but that they should sink to such depths as dragging a 75-year-old lady into their vendettas is deplorable,” wrote Vadra.
He also asserted that he has always cooperated with all investigative agencies in the past and will continue to do so in future.
“I have been cooperating throughout and giving full information and all details requested by all agencies over the last few years and I have repeatedly reiterated both in court and out of it, that I will continue to do so," he said.
In December last year, Vadra, who is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a land deal had said that he would cooperate and not run away to some other country, adding that the process should be fair and legal. (ANI)
