Don't know Misra, says Salman Nadvi

Ayodhya [Uttar Pradesh] [India], Feb 15 (ANI): Former All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) executive member Moulana Salman Hasni Nadvi on Thursday said he did not know Amarnath Misra.

The Moulana said he did not know the president of Ayodhya Sadbhavna Samnvyay Maha Samiti, and had "never seen his face".

The former AIMPLB member's statement was in context with Misra informing the Art of Living Foundation on Wednesday that "Nadvi demanded money for building another Masjid in Ayodhya".

Rebuffing Misra's claims, Nadvi said he didn't know him at all.

"I don't remember him at all. There are so many people who meet me. He (Amarnath Mishra) shouldn't spoil the environment by speaking such lies. He doesn't want the matter to be resolved. I ask the government to take action against him," Nadvi told ANI.

Nadvi also said Misra was a devil who did not want peace in the country.

Misra on Wednesday told ANI that he met Nadvi on February 5 and discussed the issue of Babri Masjid-Ram Janambhoomi, after which the Moulana demanded money, position, and land for building another Masjid in Ayodhya.

"He wanted to make another Masjid like Mecca in Ayodhya, and for that, he asked for 200 acres of land, membership in the Rajya Sabha and Rs 1,000 crore."

"He only wants to create obstacles in the work of God. They are scared that Hindu and Muslim will be united. He knows that I am the only one who is raising this issue and that is why 90 percent of Hindus and Muslims are with me," Nadvi told ANI.

The AIMPLB has removed Nadvi for supporting the construction of the Ram Temple on the disputed land.

Nadvi on February 9 told ANI that he met Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar where he extended his support to the construction of Ram temple.

"Misra should be ashamed of himself for insulting the Bhagvat Geeta by swearing on it and saying that I demanded money from him. I have thousands of supporters who will give millions and billions of money for building the Masjid," he said.(ANI)
