Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) [India], March 10 (ANI): Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi, who on Sunday inaugurated 15 airport projects, including 12 new terminal buildings of almost worth Rs 10,000 crore, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that in the 75 years of independence, an airport of 2.5 lakh square feet has never been built in such a short period of time which is being built today in Gwalior.
"Today, such a grand and biggest airport of Madhya Pradesh has been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the 75 years of independence of the country, an airport of 2.5 lakh square feet has never been built in such a short period of time which is being built today in Gwalior. Its foundation stone will be laid on October 16, 2022, and inauguration will take place on March 10, 2024," he said.
"PM's thinking and ideology was that our state should always remain on the path of development, on the basis of that, today Gwalior air terminal worth Rs 600 crore and Jabalpur air terminal worth Rs 450 crore were inaugurated. Along with this, today the new building of the High Court was inaugurated in which the judges of the country were present," Scindia added.
The Union Minister also asserted that if your heart is clean, you will sleep peacefully every day.
Meanwhile, the project launched by PM Modi includes 12 new terminal buildings of Pune, Kolhapur, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Delhi, Lucknow, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Moradabad, Shravasti and Adampur Airports, along with laying of the foundation stone for new terminal buildings of Kadapa, Hubballi and Belagavi airports on Sunday.
So far, in FY 2023-24, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has operationalized state-of-the-art new integrated terminal buildings at Chennai, Port Blair, Surat and Tiruchirappalli Airports.
The new terminal buildings at Kanpur Airport, Rajkot International Airport, Tezu Airport and Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya Dham were also inaugurated. The projects are aimed at augmenting passenger amenities and giving a fillip to the local economy.
The 12 new terminal buildings are being developed at a total cost of Rs. 8,903 Crore, having a combined capacity to serve 615 Lakh passengers annually.
These new terminal buildings are also equipped with various sustainability features like a double insulated roofing system, provision of canopies for energy saving, LED lighting, low heat gain double glazing unit, solar power plant etc. to meet GRIHA ratings.(ANI)
