Developmental work underway in far-flung areas of J&K

Kathua (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Jan 31 (ANI): The Rural Development Department of Jammu and Kashmir took out various initiatives for the development of far-flung areas across the state.

The beautification of drains and pathways is in progress under block Keerian Gandyal of Kathua district.

Speaking to ANI, block development officer, Barnoti, Varinder kumar Bawa said that nearly 500 development works are being undertaken which included construction of lanes and drains with modern tile works, irrigation and ponds development works under the MGNREGA scheme.

He further said that the rural lanes are decorated with colored tiles.

"People hailed the government for development schemes done in the far flung areas. They said that on one side the upliftment of rural areas is going on under MGNREGA (National Rural Employment Guarantee Act and on the other side people are also getting the employment under the same," he added.
