New Delhi [India], September 17 (ANI): Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whose leadership the third BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre completed its first 100 days in office and said that development works amounting to Rs 15 lakh crore have been completed in these 100 days.
"Today is the birthday of PM Modi and we are celebrating it by going among the public and informing them about the works done by the central government in the first 100 days. Before the elections, PM Modi had decided what had to be done in the first 100 days of governance," Rijiju told ANI.
"We have implemented the action plan for the 100 days of governance. Development works amounting to Rs 15 lakh crore have been completed in these 100 days. The first decision that he took after becoming the PM was for the benefit of farmers. PM Modi has ensured that development works are carried out for all sections of society," he added.
He further lashed out at the Congress party and said that the party has not done the work in the past 60 years that PM Modi has done in 100 days.
"Congress has not done the work in the past 60 years that PM Modi has done in 100 days. Congress has no understanding of the nation...When Congress was in power, it appeased minorities for vote bank," he said.
Earlier on September 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government completed 100 days in office, several actions aimed at reforming the justice system and mitigating disasters, among other measures, were highlighted by sources in the Union government.
PM Modi 3.0 has prioritised significant advancements in science, technology, energy, and security to meet national needs and position India as a competitive economy.
The Modi 3.0 government has implemented several schemes for the youth and women in its first 100 days since the formation of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre for the third consecutive time in last June.
These included a Rs 2 lakh crore PM package to promote employment and skill development among the youth and the formation of more than 90 lakh self-help groups (SHGs) under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana--National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) for women, which had helped 10 crore women to promote financial inclusion, digital literacy, sustainable livelihoods and social development measures, as per government sources.
PM Modi is celebrating his 74th birthday today. He was born on September 17, 1950, in Gujarat.
Earlier today, Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda, along with other senior party leaders, extended wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday. (ANI)
