Development impossible sans smiling farmers: Adityanath

Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India] Feb. 26 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that smiling farmers were important for development and growth.

The Chief Minister said, "Till there is no smile on the faces of farmers, there can be no development."

He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his commitment towards the development.

"If we take two steps for development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marches 10 steps ahead of us," said the Chief Minister.

He also said whatever fund was sought for development, the Prime Minister fulfilled it generously.

He was campaigning for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Upendra Dutt Shukla for Gorakhpur Lok Sabha by-polls. The seat fell vacant as Yogi Adityanath resigned after he became the Chief Minister.

"You sent me five times to the Lok Sabha, but proper development could not be done because non-BJP governments ruled Uttar Pradesh. But, now Prime Minister Modi led government is at the Centre and he has given reins of Uttar Pradesh in my hands. Now, no one will have to demand development because I come to Gorakhpur again and again to repay your debt of sending me to the Lok Sabha five times. Now, Gorakhpur will be fully developed," the Chief Minister said.

He added that senior BJP worker Upendra Dutt Shukla was given the party ticket for Lok Sabha by-polls to take forward Gorakhpur's development. (ANI)
