New Delhi [India], October 13 (ANI): The Department of Consumer Affairs, in collaboration with its subordinate, attached offices, autonomous bodies, and field formations, is actively participating in the Special Campaign 3.0 to emphasize cleanliness and enhance workplace experiences within government offices.
This initiative, conducted nationwide, aims to expedite the resolution of pending matters and promote a culture of cleanliness in all government offices, read the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution press release.

The Special Campaign, which is scheduled from October 2 to October 31, is being organized under the guidance of the Department of Administrative Reforms & Grievances (DARPG).
Its primary objectives include improving cleanliness and tidiness, resolving pending matters, and enhancing overall workplace experiences in government offices, read the press release.
The campaign, which was inaugurated on September 27, 2023, received an impetus when Rohit Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Department of Consumer Affairs, visited the divisions in Krishi Bhawan.
During his visit, he reviewed the department's preparations and readiness for Special Campaign 3.0.
For the Department of Consumer Affairs, various targets have been set, and specific sites have been identified for cleanliness campaigns and activities, read the press release.
The main focus during this campaign will be on record management and the improvement of workplace conditions. The department, along with its units, has pinpointed 150 sites for cleanliness campaigns and activities as part of Special Campaign 3.0.
In addition to promoting cleanliness, the Department of Consumer Affairs has set its sights on resolving pending matters. It has identified 994 public grievances, 1,496 public grievance appeals, and 1,922 files for review to ensure the cleanliness and efficiency of office premises.
This includes the disposition of pending matters related to Member of Parliament (MP) references, Parliamentary assurances, Prime Minister's Office (PMO) references, Indian Medical Council (IMC) references, State Government references, and more.
Subordinate, attached, and autonomous bodies like the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC), Indian Institute of Legal Metrology (IILM), National Test House (NTH), and Regional Reference Standards Laboratory (RRSL) are actively participating in this campaign, read the press release.
They have organized various outreach programs, including distributing pamphlets to raise awareness about cleanliness and the harmful effects of single-use plastic in marketplaces.
These organizations have also engaged in activities such as essay writing competitions, drawing competitions at schools, cleaning their office premises, and planting saplings and trees to enhance greenery.
Furthermore, these bodies have identified a significant amount of scrap materials, including old furniture and e-waste, which will be auctioned during the campaign, freeing up valuable office space, read the release.
Employees from these organizations are actively participating in sustainable cleanliness drives during this campaign period.
The progress of this campaign is being closely monitored and updated on the SCDPM portal hosted by DARPG. All attached, subordinate, and autonomous organizations are enthusiastically participating in the campaign, working diligently to achieve the targets set by the Department of Consumer Affairs.
This initiative showcases the government's dedication to cleanliness and efficiency in public offices and is expected to bring about a significant positive transformation in the working environment. (ANI)
