Delhi Police Special Cell arrests rewarded interstate arms dealer from MP

New Delhi (India) Apr 12 (ANI): An interstate arms dealer having a bounty of Rs 1 lakh was arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi, police said on Friday.

New Delhi (India) Apr 12 (ANI): An interstate arms dealer having a bounty of Rs 1 lakh was arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi, police said on Friday.
The arrested accused is identified as 28-year-old Mohd Israr alias Kalu, who is a resident of Etawah in Uttar Pradesh. He was nabbed by the Special Cell from Bhind district in Madhya Pradesh.
Initially Israr worked as a tailor in Etawah but when he got mingled up with antisocial elements of the area, he indulged in supplying of illegal firearms across different neighbouring states
"During the interrogation, Kalu revealed that he used to purchase arms from Jeet in Madhya Pradesh's Burhanpur and then supply the illegal consignments of pistols to his contacts in Delhi, UP and Haryana with the help of his carriers namely Vineet and Ram Kumar," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Special Cell, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.
He further disclosed that he had been involved in the arms business for last 3-4 years. After the arrest of his carriers in Delhi, he ran away from his house. Following which he along with his six associates committed an armed dacoity in Ajmer in which a case was registered and he was arrested adding that he is presently on bail.  
"A specific information regarding movement of Israr was received. A raiding party was constituted and was sent to Bhind and a trap was laid around Fauji Dharam Kanta. At about 9 am, he was identified by the informer but he sniffed the danger and tried to flee from the spot. The team chased him for some distance and after a brief scuffle he was apprehended," Yadav said.
Further investigation in the matter is underway. (ANI)
