Delhi: Woman travelling with husband shot dead in Gokalpuri following road rage

A road rage incident reported in Delhi's Gokalpuri area turned out to be fatal for a woman, as she was shot dead while she was travelling with her husband on a bike on Wednesday afternoon.

New Delhi [India], July 31 (ANI): A road rage incident reported in Delhi's Gokalpuri area turned out to be fatal for a woman, as she was shot dead while she was travelling with her husband on a bike on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Delhi Police, the deceased, identified as Simranjeet Kaur (30) was going towards Maujpur along with her husband, Heera Singh (40).
Meanwhile, Heera Singh, had a verbal spat with one person on a two-wheeler near Gokal Puri Flyover after their vehicles almost brushed against each other.
After which, a person fired a single shot from the flyover down below, from a distance of about 30-35 feet which hit his wife, Simranjeet Kaur in her upper chest, near her neck. He took his wife to GTB Hospital, where she was declared brought dead.
A case of murder is being registered. CCTV footage in the area is being scanned. Efforts are being made to identify and arrest the assailant. Further investigation is in progress, said Delhi Police.
Earlier as well, a disturbing incident of road rage has surfaced in Pune city, where a 27-year-old woman was allegedly beaten by a car driver on Baner-Pashan Road on July 20.
The victim, who was riding a two-wheeler with two children, alleged that the driver followed her for 2 kilometers before the assault, leaving her with severe injuries and bleeding from her nose. The woman has recorded a video detailing the incident and posted it on Instagram, seeking justice and raising concerns about women's safety in the city.
The video has gone viral on social media. Pune police have arrested the accused driver and another woman who was with him, booking them under sections of 118(1) , 74 , 115(2), 352 and 3(5) of the BNS and the Motor Vehicle Act. The case has been registered at Chaturshrangi Police Station, and further investigations are underway. (ANI)
