New Delhi [India], August 3 (ANI): The University of Delhi (DU) on Saturday released the academic calendar for the first-year undergraduate courses for the 2024-25 session and announced that classes will commence from August 29 (Thursday).
Classes were originally set to start on August 1 but were postponed due to a delay in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG results.
As per the updated academic calendar, the first semester will now start with classes on August 29. A mid-semester break is scheduled from October 27 to November 3, with classes resuming on November 4. The semester will conclude on December 24, when students will be given preparation leave for practical examinations.
Theory examinations for the first semester are scheduled to begin on January 6, 2025, and will run until January 25, 2025, after which the winter break will commence.
The second semester is set to start on January 27, 2025, with a mid-semester break from March 9 to March 16. Classes will resume on March 17, and the dispersal of classes for preparation and practical exams is slated for May 25, 2025. Theory exams will begin on June 7, 2025, with the academic year wrapping up with a summer vacation from June 29 to July 20, 2025.
The delay was caused by the late announcement of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) Undergraduate results.
Earlier, the DU has started the second phase of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for undergraduate admissions for the 2024-25 academic session on August 1.
Candidates who completed Phase 1 are required to choose their preferred programmes and college combinations. This phase is crucial for finalising their admission preferences and securing a seat in their desired programme and institution. (ANI)
