New Delhi [India], January 13 (ANI): The battle for Delhi has intensified, in a new political war of words the Congress party has attacked the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over governance and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi's newly launched 'crowdfunding campaign', weeks before the assembly polls scheduled for February 5.
Taking to X, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit shared a video of AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal where a woman is asking him "What have you done for us? Everything has been done by the Congress."
Sharing the video of the AAP chief where a woman is asking him what he had done for them, Dikshit slammed the "two-time Chief Minister" and accused him of "running away from the public."
The Congress leader wrote on X, "What could be more shameful than a two-time Chief Minister having to run away from the public hiding his face."

Notably, Congress has fielded Sandeep Dikshit as their candidate against AAP's Arvind Kejriwal and BJP's Parvesh Verma from the New Delhi assembly constituency.
Congress MP Kiran Kumar Chamala took a dig at Delhi Chief Minister Atishi for her 'crowdfunding campaign' saying that AAP and Delhi CM Atishi "100 per cent needs crowdfunding after their deal with Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) got busted". He was referring to the alleged liquor policy scam case.
In April 2024, BRS leader K Kavitha was under judicial custody in a money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy.
In a social media post on X, Chamala wrote, "I can understand @AamAadmiParty and its present chief minister @AtishiAAP needs crowd funding 100% after deal with @RaoKavitha of @BRSparty #SouthGroup got busted. Delhi Liquor Scam: 2 Ex-Goa MLAs Paid In Cash By AAP For Poll Expenses, Alleges CBI."

Meanwhile, just six hours after asking people to fund her assembly election campaign, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi raised more than Rs 15 lakh through her online portal on Sunday.
Atishi has set a goal of garnering Rs 40 lakh as her election campaign fund, contesting from the Kalkaji Assembly constituency. As of January 10, 5:30 PM, the party's donation page shows 278 people have donated a total of Rs 15,15,930 to her.
Earlier, Atishi turned to crowdfunding, claiming that people have donated money supporting the party's "honest politics" and that the party does not take money from businessmen.
"People donated money to support Aam Admi Party's honest politics. We don't take money from big businessmen for elections. AAP government works for the common people. For my election from Kalkaji, I am launching a crowdfunding campaign for Rs 40 lakh, which I need for the election. People can donate any amount they want," Atishi told reporters on Sunday.
CM Atishi is in the electoral fray with BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress' Parvesh Verma from the Kalkaji assembly constituency.
The Delhi assembly polls will be held in a single phase on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8. (ANI)
