Delhi Police solve murder case of senior citizen, arrest one

New Delhi [India] June 12 (ANI): Delhi Police's Crime Branch, specifically the ARSC team from Shakarpur, has successfully solved the murder and robbery case of a senior citizen in the Jafrabad area with the arrest of a 24-year-old man, officials said on Wednesday.
The arrested accused has been identified as Rajan Sharma.
The incident was reported on the morning of May 14, 2024, when the complainant found his mother unconscious and bleeding in her ground-floor room. He noticed her gold earrings, mobile phone, smartwatch, and purse containing cash and jewellery were missing.
The woman was admitted to GTB Hospital but sadly passed away on May 18, 2024. The case was initially registered as robbery (FIR No. 191/24 dated May 16, 2024) and later upgraded to include murder charges.
Following a tip-off from HC Suneet, the Crime Branch conducted raids in the Ghonda, Maujpur, and Jafrabad areas of Delhi.
They successfully apprehended the accused, Rajan Sharma, recovering two silver anklets, four gold bangles, a smartwatch, a mobile phone, and housebreaking tools used in the murder. Additionally, a motorcycle used in the crime was also recovered, police said. (ANI)
