New Delhi [India], Nov 9 (ANI): Along with measures taken before and after the apex court's verdict on the Ayodhya land dispute case, Delhi Police is planning elaborate security arrangements for Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi to be celebrated on Sunday.
"Delhi Police is also planning elaborate police arrangements for Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi to be celebrated tomorrow," the Delhi Police said in a statement.
The police had made elaborate security arrangements in the wake of the Ayodhya verdict.
All district DCPs were alerted last night itself and were asked to mobilise maximum staff for coverage of vulnerable areas.
In addition to local police deployment, 26 companies were deployed to bolster the strength and visibility in sensitive localities.
Arrangements were made particularly to cover vulnerable areas of mixed population and places of worship. All police control room vans, Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) and Raftaar motorcycle patrols were also alerted to maximise patrolling.
Prohibitory orders have been issued against unlawful assemblies and activities in order to maintain public order and drones were used to monitor situation in sensitive and vulnerable pockets.
The Delhi Police is also keeping a close watch on social media platforms to check spreading of any unverified or malicious posts.
It has issued an appeal to maintain peace and tranquillity. Supervisory officers monitored ground deployment and alertness of staff and senior officers including Commissioner of Police, Delhi, were on rounds covering several areas of the mixed population of the national capital.
The Supreme Court on Saturday directed the Centre to give five acres of suitable land to the Sunni Waqf Board and at the same time make necessary arrangements for the construction of the temple by forming a trust.

A five-judge constitution bench presided by Chief Justice Gogoi and comprising Justices SA Bobde, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer passed the order on a bunch of petitions against an order of the Allahabad High Court which trifurcated the site among Ramlalla Virajman, Sunni Central Waqf Board and Nirmohi Akhara.
