Delhi Police bust gang of ATM robbers

New Delhi [India], Mar 17 (ANI): Delhi Police on Sunday claimed to have busted a gang of four robbers allegedly notorious for looting ATMs.

New Delhi [India], Mar 17 (ANI): Delhi Police on Sunday claimed to have busted a gang of four robbers, allegedly notorious for looting ATMs.
The police recovered a country-made pistol, gas cutter machine along with cylinders, monkey caps, woolen gloves, spray bottle, and a car from the possession of the gang members.
A case under Section 399, 402 of the IPC and Arms Act was registered at Malviya Nagar police station.
All the four accused, named, Zabir, Vakil, Mohammad Ashfaq, and Shokeen are residents of Haryana.
Police said on the intervening night of March 15 and 16, they had received a secret input that a gang of ATM robbers was gathering in a fort situated in Satpula Park, Khirki village on the Press Enclave Road.
A police team led by Inspector Virender Dalal, SHO Malviyanagar and under the overall supervision of ACP, Hauz Khas, Rajnish apprehended the four accused who were planning to loot an ATM machine at Khirki Extension, Malviya Nagar.
During the scuffle that followed, fifth accused Arshad managed to escape by jumping the wall of the fort. It was later revealed during the interrogation Arshad and Zabir were the gang leaders. Zabir is also an accused in a rape case.
Another accused Ashfaq has done his B Tech recently and was looking for a job. (ANI)
